I finally did a recovery from the recovery console, prompted the "chkdsk /r" command and sleeped :P the other day made a fresh format from the begining and changed the drivers boot order just after the first boot! thats all. I had made everything i read, the regedit.exe could not load, the devices manager just clicked and did nothing at all, changed the drive letter nothing. i don't know what exactly was the solution but now my setup continues exactly the way it should.Īt first i had done a fresh format and setup of xp when at the very last time the error with asms and i386 occured. Have CD, DVD or bootable USB with Hiren's on it,Ĭopy from installation disc i386 to partition where Windows is being installed. Had to wait and type down arrow and enter probably 25 times but install is all good. Went to the location popup and typed u:\i386 and bam. Apparently on my netbook, U was the drive for the usb. My solution was shift f10 command prompt and typing d: enter, e: enter, f: enter until i got to U. Was installing with a USB on a netbook Acer.
